Lindsay & Jamie – Kleinburg Wedding Photography

We love shooting at Doctor’s House in Kleinburg, it’s such a sweet spot, so close to the city, yet it’s super elegant, quaint, timeless and romantic.

Lindsay and Jamie’s day started off beautifully. The forecasts were calling for cloudy weather but the sun came out in full force. It was a perfect spring day.

Lindsay and the girls had a relaxing morning getting ready and once Lindsay put the dress on the nerves came out just a little bit. But the playlist Lindsay’s dad curated kept the mood light and fun. On their way to The Doctor’s House for the first look, the emotions and excitement took over and until Lindsay and Jamie saw each other for the first time she had butterflies in her stomach all the way to The Doctor’s House. Jamie and his men seemed to have a blast, easy going, laughing, playing a card game or two. Jamie was so excited to see Lindsay, it was so fun to capture.

The first look was filled with emotion, love, excitement and all of the good feels. Jamie was blown away by how incredible Lindsay looked in her wedding dress. Lindsay topped off her wedding day outfit off with a beautiful headband that sparkled and was just the perfect touch a vintage glam.

We love shooting at The Doctor’s House and so we wandered the beautiful early spring grounds and basked in the warm sunshine for some fantastic photos with the bride and groom and the wedding party. We then headed to Kleinburg for just a little bit for a few more photos before the ceremony. I love walking along with the bride and groom, everyone wishes the couple love and happiness, it’s so great to see how kind and excited people are for the newlyweds.

Lindsay and Jamie were so excited to marry each other, their best friend. The ceremony chapel was full to the brim with all of the guess Lindsay and Jamie chose to be there for their big day. Their vows were touching, funny, full of love, laughter and happy tears. After the ceremony we did a huge group shot with everyone on the stairs of the chapel.

The grounds of The Doctor’s House are beautiful no matter what time of year it is, and the staff there is always so willing to help and always has the couples best interests at heart.

Cocktails were full of buzz and excitement and well wishes for the bride and groom.

The dinner was dotted with beautiful heartfelt speeches from the bride and groom’s family and friends. It was an incredible celebration of their love, and the support and love that their family and friends gifted them with and just a great day overall. We snuck out a little bit later in the evening for a few more photos. Although I know Lindsay would’ve much rather stayed and enjoyed her guests, I know those photos were so worth it.

Their first dance after dinner was beautifully choreographed. They have smiles on their faces the entire time and every guests’ eyes were glued to the bride and groom. After a couple of parent dances the party started and the dance floor was filled with everyone wanting to enjoy the evening in no time.

Lindsay and Jamie you know I love you, I fell for you two and your awesome sense of humour during your engagement session last year, thank you so much for this amazing start to my 2017 wedding season I was so excited that it was you that I got to photograph as my first wedding couple of 2017. I hope you enjoyed your day as much as I did. I’m sure you were so excited to be surrounded by such love and support from everyone surrounding you. Congratulations!

Cluny Bistro Distillery District Engagement Photos

This Cluny Bistro, Distillery District engagement session was so much fun. I’m a total foodie, so the ability to shoot in such an awesome restaurant is always awesome.

Tina & Eric found me through a referral from one of Tina’s great friends and one of my favourite clients, Andrea & Brian. It’s always so great getting referrals, of course from the business perspective, but mostly because I know the friend my past clients recommend are going to be awesome. It never fails, I have not yet been disappointed.

Tina & Eric are two of the most easy going, sweet, quirky, wonderful people. And they are total foodies. During our initial consultation we spent almost two hours chatting, maybe 15 minutes of that was about wedding related topics. Otherwise the conversation naturally diverted towards food. Eating, cooking, restaurants, classes, blogs, you name it, it was covered. It was only appropriate that Tina & Eric wanted their engagement session to have some sort of food aspect to it. What better spot, than Cluny Bistro. The way Tina described it was that they had bread that crackles. My fave, when the bread whispers to you and the crust is so perfectly crispy it crackles, she totally sold me on it. I love bread, and I love amazing bread even more. As we finished shooting, Tina and Eric were thoughtful enough to get me a baguette, they know the way to my heart [as if we were not having enough fun already]…crispy bread…mmm.

It was a beautiful, but chilly April morning, but the distillery was just empty enough for us to explore without crowds. What a perfect way to spend the morning.

The way Tina & Eric, described what their vision for their wedding day was; painted such a beautiful picture of a day spent with their closest family and friends, with amazing food, of course, and at a venue that will be so beautiful in June, it will be a magical day.

University of Toronto Engagement Photos

This University of Toronto engagement session was so much fun. It was a beautiful but chilly day in Toronto.

As with all of our clients, for their engagement portraits, I usually suggest for them to pick a spot that has meaning to them. Whether it’s a place they like visually, greenery or architecture, or a place that has some personal meaning to them.

Veronica and Julius, were so sweet when deciding on the spot, they considered the ROM, Humber College, even a home improvement store, as they said they spend a lot of time at Lowe’s, which I can totally relate to. ;o)

In the end, they decided on the beautiful U of T campus. They love the architecture and the feel of the campus, a perfect spot in the middle of the city to stroll through.

Veronica and Julius, have an ease about them, a sweet comfort, they have been together for a while, so there is such an awesome mutual understanding and love between them. It was so lovely to photograph.

Veronica has a background in architecture, and Julius is extremely handy, so we chatted about all of the fun projects home ownership brings along, and our mutual love of to-do lists and little projects around the house. We joked about how fun it is to ‘adult’ it, and how much time all of these little projects take, but how rewarding they are. They spoke about how their home is an awesome gathering place for friends and family, and how summer BBQs are coming, and hopefully the warm weather.
Veronica and Julius, I so cannot wait to meet all of your friends and family in June, and I’m sure warmer weather will be here in time for your big day!

I cannot wait to shoot at the beautiful Doctor’s House again!
