I am so excited to share these Cluny Bistro engagement photos with you! SO excited!

I had so much fun with Amanda and Raffaele, and I loved that choosing the locations for the session was an awesome collaborations between the two of them. Amanda, who is super stylish wanted a backdrop that was romantic, urban and had a bit of a French flare to it. What better spot than Cluny Bistro in the Distillery District…with it’s gorgeous exposed brick walls, incredible interior design and a cosy feel it was more than perfect! Raffaele, although come off as a total guys’ guy, he’s actually a total romantic…insisted we go to the spot where he proposed. A small park on lake Ontario in the west end of Toronto. Since we started the shoot at Cluny Bistro, I could have continued there for the rest of the session, but I knew the park was important to them.
After arriving at the park on this beautiful sunny day, I wanted to know the details of the story of how Raffaele proposed to Amanda. Oh my goodness…was I in for a story. ;o) Raffaele researched the park ahead of time. He had an awesome plan all along, but needed a park and he needed electricity. Apparently this is super hard to find. On the day of the proposal, with what must have been a 400 foot extension cord, he put his plan into action. He placed a christmas tree in the park, decorated it, lit it and after spending a beautiful day with Amanda, he drove her to this lovely park. Amanda wondered all along why he was so insistent about taking her to this spot. When they arrived she saw a beautiful christmas tree, in a sweet little park overlooking the lake. Her ring was in an ornament on the tree!!! Raffaele asked her to marry him on a cold December day with the city sparkling in the background, at a little park in Etobicoke…it could have not been any more perfect! And as much as posing for photos was not his cup of tea, although they are both awesome in front of the camera, clearly he would do anything for his girl!
