Wow…2010 is almost over…every year towards the holidays I seem to reflect on the year just ending, I think about my accomplishments and failures, the what ifs, the do-overs, the pats on the back, kind words from strangers – clients who over the course of the year have become friends. I think about all of the events which took place over the year, the people I have been fortunate to meet, the memories I’ve captured, the amount of work I have done. And as my husband asks me for a Christmas list, so he can get shopping, and I I write out all the little things I would like ‘Santa’ to get me – a scarf, a new hat, a pair of new winter boots…a whole lot of kitchen gadgets…I realize I am so very blessed.
I do what I love…I get to photograph people on their wedding day…every wedding is amazing, each client unique…and every shoot is so much fun. My family is beyond fantastic, they have helped so much in the renovations on this new [old] house…and just always being there for us…our friends are awesome…in every way, from bowling nights, to charades, to great conversation and delish food…they are always there to share a laugh and offer a hug when one needs it most…my husband…Yancy…is my constant…and I am so thankful for him every day, I may be totally biased, but he is the BEST husband in the world…and I am not exaggerating…I can be a handful sometimes, a little loud, somewhat opinionated, and sometimes quite stubborn, and somehow he loves and accepts that, and I am so so lucky!
As I write this I smile to myself – 2010 has been a good year…and I wish everyone – holidays full of family, great friends, good wishes, plenty of food and cheer, and a 2011 filled with new inspiration, lots of laughter, and dreams come true!
